White Chucks Are Life!
Here at Clothz Minded we are obsessed with this oldie but goodie! White Converse Chuck Taylors! Summer is right around the corner and its time to put away the black Nikes and pick up a crisp new pair of white Chucks! Today I would like to show you three different looks for your summer wardrobe all worn with a pair of white Chucks, but first a few fun facts!

So if you didn't already know Converse first released their Chuck Taylors, also known as the "All Star" in 1917 as an attempt to dominate the basketball shoe market. In 1920 Chuck Taylor who was not only a Converse shoe salesman but also a basketball player took to the challenge of improving the original design and launched the new and improved All Star Chuck Taylors! Think about that. Here we are nearly 100 years after the All Star hit the sales floor and this classic little sneaker is still going strong as a timeless fashion statement and a true symbol of American pop culture!

Anyone can rock a pair of Chucks and they're always in style. You can truly dress them up or dress them down. They look great fresh out of the box or with a little milage on them and a story to tell! Andy Worhol painted the ever so popular Soup Cans in 1962 while wearing a pair of Chucks. Kurt Cobain lived in his Chucks. Honestly, he may have even slept in them (I totally made that part up) and even Elvis was spotted in a pair of Chucks! Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points in an NBA game while wearing Chucks! Mr. James Dean himself wore Chucks and I clearly remember seeing Ice Cube in the 80's (I totally just dated myself) wearing Chucks! I'm pretty sure that's when my love affair began and if my memory serves me right I had at least 5 pairs in high school in a variety of colors! At this very moment I have a white, black and a grey pair. Oh, and I also have a very unique pair with Rosie the Riveter on them. I haven't brought myself to wear those yet because I do not want to get them dirty! All three of my children had a pair of Converse Chuck Taylors as their first pair of shoes! So as you can see all walks of life can makes these classic sneakers work for them!

Who would have thought a mod style black dress could work so well with white high top Chuck Taylors! Chic and simple with a minimalistic mod vibe! This dress is perfect for the office paired with heels and a blazer but if you're wanting to tone it down for a solo low key dinner on a summer night at your favorite local eatery then slip your earbuds in and listen to Making Movies (my favorite Kansas City local band) and do your tootsies a favor and slip on a pair of White Chuck Taylors!

So there it is! Your summer must have! Converse introduced the white Chuck Taylors in the summer of 1936 and here we are with the summer of 2016 right around the corner and the white high top Chuck Taylors are at the top of my list for your summer wardrobe must have!
